Graphic Design 2a / Packaging & Branding [3cr.]

In this studio course students are introduced to the world of package design involving three dimensional understanding of objects along with graphic skills to develop functional and effective product designs. Students work on a variety of projects for a number of real-market clients starting from rough sketches, transforming them to mockups, and eventually producing final actual products.

Digital Drawing  Techniques [3cr.]

The course develops students’ techniques in design programs and the creative use of the computer as an illustrative medium. Starting from freehand sketches, students create digital artworks using traditional and then the latest design methods. The course enhances their color theory and drawing styles.

Printmaking Techniques [3cr.]

This course provides an overview of different printing methods from old history until today. Students learn and explore the different techniques and media not only through class lectures but also by visiting print industries in Florence.

Typography 3 / Typeface Design [3cr.]

Students learn how to manipulate typography as a strong communicative tool. They invest their moods and styles in creating their own personalised typeface based on their typographic knowledge from first year.

Photography 1 / Foundation [3cr.]

The course covers the history and theory of photography. Students explore the fundamentals of photocomposition whereby they study the basic camera operations and the principles of photography involving lighting, speed and composition. Projects include topics such as portrait, still life and landscape photography.

Yoga, Jogging, Cycling [1cr.]

A physical education course that allows the students maintain a healthy lifestyle during their stay in Florence. The classes are conducted outdoors and in groups whereby the students explore Florence in a safe and fun environment. Main activities are yoga, jogging and biking.

This course introduces students to the world of digital media. It is an essential guide to user interface and user experience for websites and mobile applications. Students learn the principles of creating websites, mobile platforms, motion graphics and animations through the latest software applications. Application design course in Florence, Italy.

The studio course brings students to explore the world of illustration and storyboarding. They invest their imagination in writing personalized stories, sketching the sequences, creating their characters, studying scene camera angles, and producing final digital comics. Exploration of various illustration styles, techniques and type design take place during lectures while researching various examples of children books and comic editorials.

Professional Preparation, Marketing & Advertising [3cr.]

An overview course of self marketing, successfully demonstrating the required skills along with the personal characteristics as a professional designer in the real market. Students learn how to advertise themselves and their key skills to the public in professional and persuasive tactics.

In this course students are introduced to interactive multimedia technologies, softwares, techniques and video sound use and effects. They in-depth learn the latest trends of the interactive media world with the latest softwares in the market.

The course is an exploration of digital photography techniques, exposure, lighting, color, lens operation, digital camera and its components. Students learn advanced photo editing softwares whereby they develop image editing and photo correction skills.
